About Adam
Hi, I'm Adam Cohen.
I created the Brain Based Parent after I found myself getting annoyed and angry with my son way too often. I'm almost ashamed to say just how often, but I was probably losing my cool three or four times a week.
Every time I lost my temper, I felt guilty and ashamed. I knew that I was better than that but I didn't seem to be able to control my reactions to my four-year-old son behaving like a four-year-old!
My son started shying away from me and didn't want to be left with me. My partner started getting worried and said that if it continued she'd leave me.
I always apologised but apologising wasn't enough and I knew I had to do something about it.
Getting annoyed and angry every other day wasn't the kind of dad I wanted to be.
I tried a few things but nothing really worked. It wasn't until I started to learn about neurology and understand how your brain makes you angry or keeps you calm that things started to change.
After all, you can only behave as well as your brain lets you.
Within weeks of realising that I could directly train my brain, my patience naturally returned.
I stopped overreacting and getting annoyed at my son and was able to reconnect with him. He started wanting me to play with him again and my girlfriend stopped being worried about our relationship!
Ultimately, this is what led me to creating The Brain Based Parent.
Now I'm going to show you what I spent thousands of pounds discovering about the brain so you can regain your patience and connect deeply with your children.
If you really want to be patient, the first step is to stop yourself from hitting your capacity.
I've created a FREE Breathing for Patience Programme to help you do that.
